  • First Place - MDO

Well.....some of you asked what was wrong with Joshua's school....nothing really, but just didn't feel like that was the right place for him. He liked it, but I didn't. I wasn't fond of some of the kids in his class and knowing that those kids would be in his class from now on kind of concerned me. Anyway, I'm really happy about the decision we made now.

Today I went to my first training at work. I LOVED it!! It was a simple CPR/First Aid training, but the staff is hilarious!! I can really feel that it's the right place for me. I feel like I've known some of them for a long time already. WHEW....I was really worried that I wasn't going to fit in and things like that, but God knows!!! Now I need to get on the ball and get my room ready and my lesson plans done. At least we're meeting as a team on Wednesday so I'll find out just how much I need to get done before school starts. I'm getting excited and nervous at the same time.

On a sad note.....Charlie's best friend's, since they were 2, dad passed away this past Saturday. He had Lou Gehrig's and the family knew the time was coming, but didn't expect it this quickly. Anyway, we'll be leaving for KC this weekend to attend the funeral since Charlie will be one of the pallbearers. We're leaving the kids here with my parents and sister so we can be there for the family. Gosh....it's going to be soooo sad!!!

  • August Already.....school's starting soon!!

Wow.....I can't believe it's already August 6th!!! Where did my summer go!!??

Well.....not sure if you guys heard, but I'll be working this fall!!! YES.....me......working again!! After being off for almost 3 years, I'm going back to work.....well......not really fulltime work, but nonetheless, WORK. I'm got a job teaching 3 year olds at Nathan's MDO. He won't be in my class, thank God, but I'll be teaching his age group. I'm only teaching T/W/Th, from 8:30 - 2:30(?) I believe, so it's not even a full day. PLUS.....since the MDO is a part of Carrollton Christian Academy, we're waiting to see if Joshua gets in there. I get a discount to BOTH schools!! WOOOHOOO!!! CCA is too $$$$ without the discount. He just took the admissions test on Mondays and passed with FLYING colors!!! Now we're just waiting for last year's principal and teacher to write their recommendation letters. Hopefully he'll get in and all 3 of us will go to school/work together 3 days a week. I'm soooo happy about that!! The wonderful thing is that I didn't even plan all of this, it basically just landed in my lap. PRAISE GOD!!! I was really struggling with putting Joshua back in to his previous school because of the other students in his class. So, we're really praying that all works out and he's in CCA!!

  • Cancun

Whew.....what a trip!!! We had soooo much fun!!! The day started WRONG....our flight was delayed about 1 1/2 hours and we were stuck on the plane!! UGH....they had to replace a component. We finally took off and we were in Mexico in 2 hours.....that was sooo nice!! We got to the hotel and they didn't have our room ready so they upgraded us and Hollie to a master suite. It was pretty nice since it was 2 floors. The rest of the families arrived a day later, so we met up with them the next day. OMG...the funniest thing happened.....David and Shannon Suh were staying at our hotel as well!! Wow....what a small world. Anyway, we did sooo much. We mainly hung out with Hollie and Mark since our hubby's golfed 4 days and our boys all needed some down time during the day. The other 3 families didn't have hubby's that golfed so much and their kids could handle no down time. Anyway, we swam a lot (of course), we went para sailing, we rented wave runners(our boys LOVED that), then we kayaked in the ocean, snorkeled (Joshua loved that), built sand castles, and we even swam with the dolphins. WHEW!!! It was sooo much fun!!! The hotel was nice and the fact that it was all-inclusive was NICE!! We had room service whenever we wanted, the kids got to order any drinks/desserts they wanted, and we got to try everything!! NICE!! The only bad part was I took my camera, by accident, into the ocean and it didn't work. :( At least I pulled out our memory card quickly and it still had all the pictures on it until that time. So, we had to rely on the disposable camera I bought at the resort.

here are some picts from swimming with the dolphins!

  • At home Magic Perm

Okay....so now that I've done my eyes, next HAIR!! I decided that I didn't want to spend that much money straightening my hair, especially since it's not that crazy. Anyway, I went to Sally's beauty supply and bought a straightening kit. Well....the first couple of days (the days that I didn't wash my hair), it looked okay. Today.....not so much. OH well.....at least I only spent $30 and I can put that idea to rest. Plus.....as Susie pointed out.....how can I be less low maintenance since I was LOW maintenance already!!! So, I thought to myself....I think I'm going for the NO MAINTENANCE look. LOL!!!

Now I'm officially getting ready for our trip. 2nd load of laundry in the wash....cleaning the house, and getting things ready!!! I think I'm more stressed out about cleaning, since Ben and Judy's family will be staying at our house, than I am about packing!! I'm happy they'll be here though....I don't like leaving an empty house for that long.

  • Eye liner tattoo!!

Okay....so I finally did it!!! I've been wanting to do this for a LONG time now, and since we're leaving next week for Cancun, I wanted to get it done so I can be LOW maintenance next week. Man....my eyes are soooo swollen right now and sooooo in pain. During the procedure, it didn't hurt at all since it was numb because of the medication. BUt afterwards.....whoa nelly....it hurts! It feels like someone punched both my eyes!! I think it hurts more because she did my eye liner VERY thick. I wear my eye liner thick, so when I got there, she recommended me to get mine done thick. She said that I have sooo much skin on top, that if I just did the lash line, you wouldn't be able to see anything. It would be a total waste of money. So, after a little convincing, I thought she was right. Now I love it!! Even with the puffiness, I can tell that it's going to look very natural.....just like I usually wear my liner. WHEW!! I was sooo nervous, but now I'm glad that I did it. Cancun....here I come!!! (BTW....Sue....the whole family is going). :o)
